Course Synopsis

This course is designed for all care staff from the public, private or voluntary sectors.  It is designed for carers of clients with a medium to high level of dependancy.

Delivery and Assessment

Students will be provided with workbooks for the course, and will be expected to work through the learning materials.  The Tutor will also observe students carrying out practical tasks during normal working hours in order that the requirement of each unit can be met.

Mandatory Units

  • Promoting peoples equality, diversity and rights
  • Promote effective communication and relationships
  • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace
  • Develop ones own knowledge and practice
  • Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse

Optional units

  • Prepare and maintain environments for clinical procedures
  • Contribute to the development and effectiveness of work teams
  • Contribute to the development, provision and review of care programmes
  • Support clients during clinical activities
  • Contribute to the movement and handling of individuals to maximise their physical comfort
  • Receive, transmit, store and retrieve information
  • Support individuals and others through the process of dying

Pricing

NVQ's are available on the following payment plans:
Plan 1 Whole Award 100% on induction  
Plan 2 2 Stage 60% on induction, 40% balance after three months  
Plan 3 Unit Fixed fee on induction, then pay for each unit as you go
